Sony has announced its new flagship, the Xperia 1 VII, quite recently. That handset arrived in three distinct color options, which we’re here to talk about. The Sony Xperia 1 VII comes in Moss Green, Orchid Purple, and Slate Black colors.

Neither of these three colors is particularly bright, but they do look notably different. The Moss Green color is basically olive green, while the Orchid Purple is… dark purple. The Slate Black color is black, simple as that.
There are no differences in the textures between the three color options. All three models have glass on the back. To be more accurate, all three of them have Gorilla Glass Victus on the back. Their frames are made out of aluminum, and they match the color of the back.
So, yes, you can expect the device to be quite slippery, as a glass phone would. The fact that it’s rather boxy should help with the grip, at least a little bit. A different back texture would certainly help more, however.
Do note that Sony also seemingly placed some indents on the sides to make them a bit more grippy. We’re not sure if that will help at all, but it could.
This phone is very similar to its predecessor
This smartphone looks very much like its predecessor, actually. Sony is sticking with its boxy design language, in which it leaves a bit more bezel above and below the display in order to avoid using a display camera hole.
Three capable cameras sit on the back of the phone, while a camera shutter is located on the right side. A power/lock button doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite fuels the Sony Xperia 1 VII, while Sony is also using LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. A very nice 6.5-inch LTPO OLED display is also used, while two 48MP cameras are backed by a 12MP unit. You can read more about the Sony Xperia 1 VII specs if you’re interested.
