‘About to be a bloodbath’ – NFL announces 2025 season schedule will begin with bitter rivalry
The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Dallas Cowboys in a blockbuster 2025 opener. The last time they met in the opening week of the season, the Eagles ran out as 41-14 winners. Dallas leads the head-to-head series overall, with a 74-58 record against Philadelphia, but it’s Hurts and the Eagles who dominated in 2024. En-route to the Super Bowl, Philly won both games against Dallas by a combined 75-13 margin. Prescott, the Cowboys’ franchise QB, was unavailable for both of those games due to injury. He is expected to be healthy for 2025 having shown off an incredible off-season body transformation, and last time he did feature against Philadelphia in December 2023, he threw for two touchdowns in a 33-13 victory. Dallas owner Jerry Jones called that the biggest win in Mike McCarthy’s tenure as head coach. McCarthy has since departed the franchise, but Prescott is an impressive 9-4 against Philadelphia in his career and an even 3-3 on the road at the Linc.
