12-year-old video game aficionado Danny is overjoyed to be spending a week at his Uncle Bill’s arcade store, Pixelworks — he can play as many video games as he wants; he meets a new friend and possibly crush, Jodi; and the intriguing, incredibly addictive new video game, Grin, shows up in the shop.
But when Uncle Bill starts spending all his time playing the mysterious Grin, he begins acting… different. He’s erratic, impatient, and angry, almost as if he’s possessed. With the help from Jodi and a knowledgeable videogame streamer, Danny realizes that Grin holds the soul of a dead serial killer and must find a way to save his uncle before it’s game over.
