There's a good argument to be made that Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack is the best giant monster movie ever.
It’s an understatement to say there are a ton of Godzilla movies. The titular king of the monsters was first introduced more than 70 years ago, and has been in close to 40 feature films to date, appearing in both Japanese productions and a handful of American ones, too (as seen in the recent MonsterVerse). The series has varied tonally and even to some extent when it comes to genre, so there's a variety of rather different movies to pick when it comes to crowning which one’s the best monster movie ever made. Also, some may point to a non-Godzilla movie being the best, like King Kong (1933), which is worthy of an honorable mention at the very least here.
