‘Won’t get away with it’ – Triple H ‘cooked’ by WWE star on Netflix Raw as fans spot hidden backstage battering
Dirty Dominik Mysterio is the sweetheart of WWE fans right now and some love him even more after a cheeky moment on Monday’s Raw. Mysterio, still just 28, is reigning Intercontinental Champion after a stunning victory at WrestleMania earlier this month. After years of villainy, fan adoration is coming Dominik Mysterio’s wayGetty He downed Judgement Day pal Finn Balor, Penta, and Bron Breakker at the showpiece event in Vegas in a fatal four-way match to claim his first main roster singles title in WWE. The grappler, son of Rey Mysterio, did so with unexpected fan support as a 60,000-plus crowd rallied behind the would-be villain and erupted when he came out on top with the gold. Post-match celebrations in the ring were long and loud enough to suggest his popularity may not be a one-night thing – and nor will his Intercontinental Championship reign given he’s already successfully defenced once, against Penta, shortly after Mania. There are times at which stars on the rise – which Mysterio undoubtedly is – can appear to do no wrong, and there was an example of that for the prodigy on Monday night’s Raw on Netflix. In a backstage segment, Dom was with his Judgement Day cohort playing WWE video games, as he so often is. The substance of the portion of Raw was to facilitate a conversation between Balor, JD McDonagh and Liv Morgan to set up the tag team match the two gentlemen would have against the War Raiders later in the evening. Despite the story being played out in front of them, it was the antics of Dom in the background that caught they eye of many fans on social media. On closer inspection, it can be seen that Mysterio is busy dishing out a heavy beating to none other than Triple H – his very own boss. A multi-time world champ and Hall of Famer, Triple H – Paul Levesque to fans these days – was one of the all-time greats, but he appeared to be having the boot stuck to him by the Intercontinental Champion. On the screen behind the key characters of the segment, Dom’s in-game self can be seen kicking and punching Triple H, at one stage even climbing the top rope, presumably to deliver his Frog Splash finishing move.
