Whatever Happened to Nokia’s Purebook Laptops?

A couple of years back, back, Nokia made waves when it announced a partnership with Off Global, a French start-up that specializes in the production of laptop computers to be launched under Nokia’s PureBook branding. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the laptops, and it looks like Nokia has altogether ended this collaboration.

As reported by the folks over at Nokiamob, Nokia’s venture into laptop licensing has come to an end following OFF Global’s closure. OFF Global’s website and LinkedIn page now indicate the company has ceased operations. It seems that despite the Nokia branding, the laptops struggled to gain significant traction especially in a competitive market dominated by veteran brands such as Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, and more.

While not as massive as the closure of its licensing agreement with HMD Global, it appears that Nokia isn’t too keen on revisiting the laptop market anytime soon, at least for the time being.
