UFC 314 loses Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates due to injury
The UFC announced Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates will no longer take place at UFC 314 due to an injury sustained by Neal.

UFC 314 has lost an anticipated main card matchup.
The organization announced Saturday during a UFC Fight Night broadcast that Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates will no longer take place at the Miami event due to an injury sustained by Neal.
The 170-pound tilt was expected to take place on the main card of the pay-per-view event scheduled for April 12 at the Kaseya Center.
While Neal will not compete at the event, UFC play-by-play announcer Jon Anik suggested the UFC is working on finding a replacement opponent for Prates who could remain on the card.
Prates has won his last 11 pro bouts and is 4-0 with four knockouts since joining the UFC.
It is unclear how long Neal will be out of action. The specific nature of his injury and its severeity are unknown at this time.
UFC 314 is headlined by Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes who’ll compete for the vacant featherweight title, plus Michael Chandler faces Paddy Pimblett in a five-round co-main event.
Former Bellator MMA champion Patricio Pitbull is also set to make his UFC debut at the event when he faces one-time interim featherweight titleholder Yair Rodriguez. Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva are set to meet in a 145-pound grudge match.
