'The Rookie' Season 7 Finale Recap: I Feel Like This Show Is Never Going To Stop Stringing Me Along
The Rookie concludes its seventh season, but even after major shifts in dynamics, the show continues to drag on old plots and stories.
I'm such a huge fan of The Rookie, but my main criticism this season has been that there hasn't been a lot of closure to the main storylines. Chenford is still an incredibly slow-burn romance, and big villains Monica Stevenson (Bridget Regan) and Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave) keep resurfacing with no true forward momentum. Unfortunately, this week's finale episode just provided us with more of the same. Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) are still not officially a couple, and even after battling John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), Oscar is, once again, in the wind. I'm hoping the Rookie writers are just setting up compelling storylines for Season 8, but right now, I'm kind of bummed that there are so many open-ended plots.
