Noah Wyle has been a major topic of conversation since the start of the year, thanks to his role in The Pitt, but Max’s first original medical drama is far from the first time he’s worn scrubs. Wyle first suited up as an emergency room doctor in ER, which debuted in 1994 and ran until 2009, starring alongside the likes of George Clooney. There were talks of an ER reboot for a while, however, they ultimately fell through and even ended in Wyle landing in a complicated lawsuit that claims The Pitt is nothing more than a “repacked ER reboot.” During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wyle spoke about how close he and the team came to the finish line with the ER reboot, as well as why it didn’t end up working out:
