Max/HBO titles have had a tight grip on the top of the Samba TV weekly wrap streaming chart going back to mid-2024. Huge shows like “House of the Dragon,” “The Penguin,” “The White Lotus,” and this week’s chart topper, “The Last of Us” have put together multi-week runs in the top spot.

All of these shows are aided by the traditional one-episode-per-week distribution model, which helps build and maintain buzz over the course of an 8 or 10-week season. This is opposed to the all-at-once binge model, where a full season is added, and that show may fade away after a few weeks.

Case in point, after spending two consecutive weeks as the second-most-watched streaming program, “Ransom Canyon” slides down to sixth this week, about three weeks after the series was added to Netflix.

Viewers have already moved on to the latest Netflix title, “The Four Seasons,” which debuts this week in second place. The dramedy miniseries was co-created by Tina Fey and stars her, along with Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and Will Forte.

“The Four Seasons” kicks off a block of five straight Netflix titles on the chart. In third this week is “Extraterritorial,” a German action thriller. It’s the third foreign-language hit to make the chart for Netflix in the past three weeks, joining “iHostage” (Dutch) and “The Glass Dome” (Swedish). How Netflix’s run at foreign-language productions will change in the wake of Trump’s proposed movie tariffs will be interesting to watch.

In fourth is “Havoc.” The Tom Hardy-led action movie is down one spot from last week. Season five of “You” remains in fifth for the second straight week, followed by the aforementioned “Ransom Canyon” in sixth.

Starting with seventh place, we have a quartet of titles from four different streaming platforms. First is the original Amazon Prime Video film “Another Simple Favor.”  The dark comedy, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, is a sequel to the 2018 theatrical release “A Simple Favor.”

In eighth, we find the Apple TV+ entry, the Jon Hamm series “Your Friends & Neighbors.” It’s down two spots from last week. Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” drops one spot to ninth this week, followed by “Andor” on Disney+, which holds the tenth position for the second straight week.

Over on linear, “American Idol” makes it three weeks in a row in the top spot. It’s followed closely by “Tracker” on CBS, with NBC’s “The Voice” climbing back into third place after a fall to seventh last week.

Current events crack the top 10 as ABC’s interview with President Trump lands in fourth. It’s followed by a cable airing of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the 2013 film.

“Saturday Night Live” and host Quinta Brunson come in sixth this week, followed by three airings of “Wheel of Fortune.” Finally, in tenth place, “Survivor,” in its 48th season, makes an appearance on the chart.

The Wrap Report provides an exclusive first look at the most-watched movies and TV series from the past week across both streaming and linear television, sourced from viewership trends collected from Samba TV’s panel of more than 3 million households, balanced to the U.S. Census.
