The Greatest Feat Strength in The Lord of the Rings Came from Bilbo Baggins — and It Was Right Under Our Noses the Whole Time
By holding on to the ring for years without succumbing to its evil, Bilbo Baggins shows the greatest feat of strength in The Lord of the Rings.

Between Gandalf (Ian McKellen) defeating a balrog and Sam (Sean Astin) carrying Frodo (Elijah Wood) up Mount Doom,The Lord of the Rings includes some pretty impressive feats. Yet, surprisingly, the one that required the most strength is accomplished by 111-year-old Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm). Bilbo isn't in much of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with The Hobbit films focus more on him. In The Hobbit, a much younger Bilbo (played by Martin Freeman) finds the One Ring on his quest. But it is at the start of The Lord of the Rings that Bilbo shows off his incredible strength.
