The CJ Cup betting preview: odds, predictions and tips

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to The CJ Cup but so, too, does the 17-year-old English amateur star Kris Kim who last year made headlines around the world. The CJ Cup 2025 odds Scottie Scheffler 11/4 Jordan Spieth 18/1 Sungjae Im 22/1 Byeong-Hun An 25/1 Sam Burns 25/1 Si Woo Kim 30/1 Taylor Pendrith 33/1 Mackenzie Hughes 35/1 Stephan Jaeger 35/1 Rasmus Hojgaard 40/1 *Odds with bet365. Odds are subject to change. The CJ Cup 2025 betting preview It’s not often that an English teenager grabs all the headlines in a PGA Tour event. But 12 months ago Kris Kim did exactly that. Then just 16 years old, he became the youngest player to make the cut in this championship and the fifth youngest ever to do so on the PGA Tour. Not content with that he then very nearly made a hole-in-one in the third round. He returns to the tournament this week and does so having been granted the very first Wentworth elite scholarship last week. He’s still only 17 but he is going places! At the other end of the scale, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the clear favourite this week, priced lower than 3/1 with everyone else in the field available at 18/1 or higher. Scheffler will be hard to beat but he is also looking for his first win this year and those prices give the punter plenty of ammunition. The CJ Cup betting tips Find my predictions and best tips for the Players Championship 2025 below. Jordan Spieth top 10 Whichever way you look at it, Jordan Spieth is a good fit for this week’s test. He’s played the course three times and recorded two top 10s (including second in 2021). The course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Spieth is 8-for-12 at registering top 10s on Weiskopf layouts. What about in Texas? It’s his home state and he’s landed 18 top 10s there in 47 starts – more persuasively he’d got nine of them in his last 17 appearances. He doesn’t have a top 10 in his last three starts but they were all top 20s – and this week is the ideal spot for him to contend again. He appeals at 20/1 each way. But he’s the bet of the week at 23/10 for another top 10 with Betfred. Back Jordan Spieth to finish in the top 10 at 23/10 with Betfred Byeong-Hun An each way The Korean Byeong-Hun An is among the best players on the PGA Tour yet to win and this week gives him a good shot at changing that. He’s played the course twice, finishing 14th in 2023 and fourth last year. On both occasions, he carded a 65 in the final round. He also has a good record at the Tom Weiskopf-designed TPC Scottsdale including when he was the 54-hole leader in 2017. He won on the DP World Tour late last year and is in nice form – he was eighth in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, second at halfway in the Valspar Championship, and carded a third round 63 last time out in the RBC Heritage. Back Byeong-Hun An in an each way bet at 30/1 with Spreadex Jake Knap each way Jake Knapp broke through at PGA tour level with victory in last year’s Mexico Open and he very nearly made it two wins when spending the first 54 holes of this event in the top two on the leaderboard. He ended that week eighth but the test suits him because he loves a wide track he can attack from the tee.  He knows how to go low, too, having signed for a 59 in the Cognizant Classic earlier this year. He was third in last week’s Zurich Classic pairs event and is the pick of the outsiders at 55/1 with Skybet. Back Jake Knap in an each way bet at 55/1 with Sky Bet How to watch The CJ Cup Venue – TPC Craig Ranch, Dallas, Texas Date – Thursday 1st May – Sunday 4th May Broadcast – Full coverage on Sky Sports Golf: Thursday & Friday from 9pm, Saturday & Sunday from 6pm.
