“The Batman Part II” Script Nearly Done

A new report has indicated that filmmaker Matt Reeves is nearly finished writing the script for “The Batman Part II”.

According to The Wrap, their sources says Reeves “has been sending pages for more than half a year” and the first full draft of the script is expected to be delivered by Memorial Day next weekend.

The project was first announced way back in April 2022 and originally scheduled to open in 2026 before the strikes and delays pushed it back to its current October 1st 2027 release.

There has been plenty of speculations about the delays, with some believing the project will simply be cancelled altogether. Nonetheless it’s still moving forward and Reeves remains attached to direct.

Indications have been that production aims to begin early next year in the UK, at last report a March 2026 start date was being targeted, which leaves plenty of time for pre-production and script polishing.

Robert Pattinson is expected back as the titular Dark Knight along with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin.
