Scottie Scheffler will be aiming to make more history in Florida this week as he eyes glory again at The Players. The Players 2025: Date and how to follow The 2025 Players Championship will get started on Thursday, March 13.  It will take place at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and will be played over four days until Sunday, March 16.  The Stadium Course is a par 72 and will measure 7,245 yards in length. This has been reduced from 144 after changes were made to some events on the PGA Tour to promote a better flow of play. Scheffler will be the star of the field, but McIlroy, who won The Players in 2019, will look to challenge again following his brilliant victory at Pebble Beach in early February. World No.5 Hideki Matsuyama also already has one tournament win under his belt in 2025 and he’ll be keen to add another. The groups have been announced for the first two rounds, and there is one standout trio. Scheffler, McIlroy and Schauffele are all together, while in another, Ludvig Aberg joins Matsuyama and Justin Thomas. The Players 2025: What has been said?  On being grouped with Schauffele and McIlroy, Scheffler said: “I don’t think it would be smart to downplay the fanfare. “I think the fans are a part of the experience when you come out and play tournaments. I believe that I’ve got great support from the fans over the years and I try to embrace that when we’re out there. “They want to see good golf. They’re not out there rooting against us. There might be a few naysayers out there, but that’s just part of it. “Most fans are rooting for some good golf and they want to see some great shots, so as players we enjoy being in front of as many fans as possible, and we should have a good crowd this week with my pairing.”
