This has been reduced from 144 after changes were made to some events on the PGA Tour to promote a better flow of play. Scheffler is the star of the field, but McIlroy, who won The Players in 2019, is challenging again following his brilliant victory at Pebble Beach in early February. World No.5 Hideki Matsuyama also already has one tournament win under his belt in 2025, but he missed the cut this time out.
