Teddy Sheringham urges Man Utd to snub Liverpool star in summer transfer window
'It would bring so much pressure.'

Teddy Sheringham has urged Manchester United to snub a move for Liverpool star Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer transfer window.
There are rumours that United are monitoring several goalkeepers due to the poor performances of their current No.1 Andre Onana this season.
United signed Onana from Inter Milan in 2023, paying the Italian club £47.2m for his services.
Kelleher, meanwhile, is keen to secure more regular playing time, having operated as a No.2 to Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper Alisson to date.
Should Kelleher complete a move to United, it would sent shockwaves across football, given that the Red Devils are Liverpool are arch rivals.

Kelleher, who has played 67 games for Liverpool, will enter the final 12 months of his current deal with the Reds this summer.
‘Caoimhin Kelleher to Man Utd wouldn’t be good for the player or club’

Former United striker Sheringham has warned his old club over a potential deal for the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international.
‘Caoimhin Kelleher to Manchester United… I don’t think that would be good for the player or the club,’ Sheringham told CasinoHawks.
‘It would bring so much pressure on his shoulders. The only way it might be a success is if Ruben Amorim got to know him personally and was able to have a close relationship with him, but without that it would be putting too much pressure on his shoulders.’
Chelsea, Tottenham and Bournemouth in race for Caoimhin Kelleher

Kelleher has been strongly linked to Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window, while Tottenham and Bournemouth are also interested.
Premier League veteran Richard Dunne, speaking last month, said that Kelleher would be a good fit for Chelsea.
‘If it does work out as people seem to think that he’s now going to be third-choice goalkeeper next season at Liverpool behind Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili there’s no doubt that he will then move on,’ Dunne said.
‘He’s good enough now to be a No. 1, he’s proven that this season. At the age he’s at, he’s probably feeling ready to play on a regular basis and be the starting keeper for a team that is challenging for trophies.’
‘Man Utd should be looking at Marco Asensio’

Meanwhile, Sheringham believes United should consider a move for Marco Asensio at the end of the season.
The Spain international, who can play as a winger or attacking midfielder, is currently on loan at Aston Villa from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
‘Should Manchester United be interested in Marco Asensio? I think he’s been a great signing for Aston Villa to enhance their team at a tough time of the season,’ Sheringham said.
‘It’s hard to get top players in January but he’s definitely come in at Aston Villa and he’s made a real difference.
‘I’m sure there’s a lot of other people that are looking at him now if he hasn’t already been signed by Villa, if not, United should be one of them.’
