SSP secures new six-year contract at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport

SSP has agreed a new contract which will see the food and beverage operator continue to run a number of bars and restaurants at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport. SSP will operate a mix of established international names, SSP-owned favourites, and new brand partners.

Making its first appearance at the airport, bar and jamonería Enrique Tomás already has an established reputation with travelling foodies. The Lanzarote outlet will serve premium Iberian ham, complemented with a wide range of Iberian products. Well-known UK-based coffee brand AMT Coffee, which serves only 100% Fairtrade coffee, will offer travellers high-quality, ethically sourced beverages in their first ever branch in Spain. Those looking for an authentic taste of the Canary Islands will be able to enjoy freshly brewed Tropical beer, which has been produced on the island since 1924, at the vibrant Tropical Sin Filtros bar.

An existing Burger King restaurant will undergo a complete renovation, including the addition of an expanded kitchen and additional self-service kiosks. SSP’s own brand Upper Crust, which has been tailored to the tastes of Spanish passengers, will also be enhanced, as will the existing Camden food co. outlet.

Lanzarote Airport plays a vital role in the Canary Island’s tourism industry. It welcomed 8.7 million passengers in 2024, reflecting a 6% increase compared to 2023. With 60% of flights connecting to European Union destinations, Germany and the United Kingdom dominate the airport’s international traffic.
