Sparky is its latest effort.
It basically lets you try to invent new things in a fun way.
If I was still teaching history to English Language Learners, I’d probably have students give it a try when we learned about famous inventions. As part of that unit, I always had students try to design a new invention.
Sparky is pretty scaffolded, so it would be accessible to them.
Having them use paper-and-pencil to design their invention always worked well, so I wouldn’t use Sparky instead of doing that, but it could be a fun little fifteen minute addition.
