Second Trailer: “28 Years Later”

The second trailer for Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later” has been released with Sony Pictures posting the clip online.

The first trailer launched late last year and was a massive success, becoming the most watched horror trailer in 2024 at 60.2 million global views. It was also the second biggest horror trailer of all-time behind only “IT: Chapter Two” at 96 million views at launch.

The trailer also received much acclaim, so much so that the studio quickly moved the digital release of the original 2002 film “28 Days Later” forward to hit digital stores within days of that trailer release.

The film starts off on Holy Island, a tidal island off the UK coast which can only access the mainland at low tide. Once on the mainland, people are on their own.

In addition, the rest of the world has reportedly remain largely unaffected by the zombie outbreak – the quarantine containing the problem primarily to the UK.

Alex Garland returns to pen the script for the new film, which stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell.

This marks the first of a new trilogy of films in the series, each with a budget said to be in the range of $75 million. “28 Years Later” opens June 20th this year.
