Just over a month after its premiere on Netflix, the critically acclaimed “Adolescence” has risen to become streamer’s third most popular English language TV show of all time.
The crime drama series has pushed aside the Evan Peters-led “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” to clinch third place with 124 million views to date. The show is still going strong, coming in second on this week’s English TV list with 9.7 million views.
The title is only beaten by the first season of “Wednesday” and the fourth season of “Stranger Things”. Both of those shows have new seasons coming later this year.
Meanwhile over on the Paramount+ service, the series finale of the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” has reportedly pulled in fourteen million viewers globally in its first seven days of availability.
The finale was reportedly up by 41% versus the first season finale, and average viewership for the second season has been up 46% compared to the first.
“1944” will be the next “Yellowstone” prequel at Paramount+ but specifics of the story are under wraps beyond a look at the impact World War II has on the Yellowstone Ranch and the Duttons.
It’s expected an early twentysomething John Duton II, father of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton III, will be the lead character in the new series.
