Sabres’ Josh Norris out of lineup vs. Golden Knights with undisclosed injury

Buffalo Sabres forward Josh Norris is out of the lineup Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights due to an undisclosed injury.

Norris wasn’t expected to play after missing practice Friday.

Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Norris was being evaluated by the team’s medical staff and the injury was “something he’s been dealing with,” but did not specify further.

Over the past two seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Norris missed 106 games with various shoulder injuries. He’s had three shoulder surgeries spread over his college and NHL career, though it’s not clear if that’s what he’s dealing with currently.

Norris, 25, was the Sabres’ marquee addition on the March 7 deadline, acquiring the one-time 35-goal scorer, along with Jacob Bernard-Docker, from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Dylan Cozens.

In three games with the Sabres, Norris has a goal and an assist. Before being traded, he had 20 goals and 33 points in 50 games with the Senators this season.
