Cristin Milioti (“Fargo,” “The Penguin”) has joined the cast of Netflix’s new animated film “In Your Dreams” co-starring Simu Liu, Craig Robinson, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elias Janssen, Gia Carides, Omid Djalili, SungWon Cho, and Zachary Noah Piser. Alex Woo and Erik Benson direct.
The comedy adventure follows Stevie and her brother Elliot who journey into the absurd landscape of their own dreams. If the siblings can withstand a snarky stuffed giraffe, zombie breakfast foods, and the queen of nightmares, the Sandman will grant them their ultimate dream come true…the perfect family. Giant
Woody Harrelson and Kerry Condon are attached to star in a remake of 2013’s “Corazón de León” which will be titled “Giant”. Marcos Carnevale, who wrote and directed the original, helms his remake from a script by Gonzalo Maza (“A Fantastic Woman”).
The original film follows a powerful female lawyer receives a call from the person who found her lost phone. They hit it off in conversation, but in person she’s shocked to find that he’s very short. [Source: Deadline]
Wild Horse Nine
Steve Buscemi has joined the cast of “In Bruges” and “The Banshees of Inisherin” filmmaker Martin McDonagh’s dark comedic drama “Wild Horse Nine” at Searchlight.
Buscemi will replace the initially cast Mark Ruffalo. Sam Rockwell, John Malkovich and Parker Posey co-star in the film which begins shooting later this month in the very remote Rapa Nui (Easter Island). [Source: THR]
Ne Zha 2
Chinese animated epic “Ne Zha 2” surpassed the $2 billion mark at the box-office this weekend, the blockbuster also securing theatrical distribution deals in multiple European territories including the UK and Ireland where it opens next Friday. Outside of China, the film’s gross to date is just $28.3 million with the remaining $2.03 billion from within China.
The film has become the highest-grossing animated film worldwide, surpassing “Inside Out 2,” and becoming the first non-Hollywood production to crack the global all-time top 10 box office chart – coming in sixth behind only the “Avatar” films, “Titanic,” “Avengers: Endgame” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Mufasa: The Lion King
Disney has revealed a March 26th premiere date for “Mufasa: The Lion King” on the Disney+ streaming service. The Barry Jenkins-directed “The Lion King” prequel explores the origins of Mufasa and his unexpected rise to become king of the Pride Lands. The film famously opened to a soft $35 million before rallying in subsequent weeks, ultimately grossing $712 million worldwide.
