Former White House press secretary turned MSNBC host Jen Psaki is moving to prime time four nights a week.
The network announced on Wednesday that Psaki would take over the 9 p.m. EDT hour Tuesday through Friday evenings as longtime pundit Rachel Maddow returns to hosting one night a week on Mondays.
Maddow has been hosting the 9 p.m. hour, a slot she presided over for years, during President Trump's first 100 days.
"The Briefing with Jen Psaki," will continued to be based in Washington, D.C. and "pull from Psaki’s decades-long experiences on campaign buses, in the Oval Office, at the State Department, and in the briefing room to dissect the most important stories of the day," the cable channel said.
Psaki joined MSNBC in 2022 and hosted a weekend afternoon program before moving to Monday evenings in 2023.
She served in the Biden and Obama administrations and, like many of the top hosts on MSNBC, has been sharply critical of Trump and his policies.
Her first show in the new time slot will be May 6.
