Proton has announced it has received over 5,500 bookings for the eMas 7 since order taking for the electric vehicle (EV) began in October last year – the launch took place in December 2025. It added that the eMas 7 is Malaysia’s best-selling EV for the third consecutive month in 2025, with more than 1,800 units delivered so far – the tally is 1,853 units as per an April 8 release.
“The eMas 7’s success shows what’s possible when we combine global EV expertise with deep local insight. We’ve introduced a vehicle that reflects the needs and aspirations of Malaysian drivers—practical, high-performing, and ready for everyday life,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of Pro-Net, which handles Proton’s EV brand and smart.
The eMas 7 is offered in two variants, with the base Prime priced at RM109,800 on-the-road without insurance, while the top-spec Premium retails for RM123,800. Proton currently offers a RM4,000 discount for the first 6,000 buyers, which lowers the EV’s price down to RM105,800 (Prime) and RM119,800 (Premium) respectively.
The Prime uses a 49.52 kWh version of Geely’s Aegis short blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for a WLTP-rated range of 345 km. Meanwhile, the Premium’s 60.22 kWh pack delivers 410 km range, with both variants sharing the same front electric motor rated at 218 PS (215 hp or 160 kW) and 320 Nm of torque.
