SRO Motorsports Group’s national and continental GT2, GT3 and GT4 series will use the new generation Pirelli P Zero DHG tire beginning this year, it has been confirmed.
The new-generation slick tire features innovations that go beyond pure performance compared to the previous DHF construction that was introduced in 2022, with the natural rubber component certified by the Forest Stewardship Council in line with the Pirelli range, which was developed also for Formula 1.
The DHG tire has been in use during this week’s GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Prologue pre-season test at Paul Ricard, with its race debut coming at the same venue on April 11-13 when the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli and GT4 European Series powered by RAFA Racing Club join their GT3 counterpart in France.
The tire will then be rolled out across SRO’s various championships in Asia, America and Australia throughout the year.
The DHG’s predecessor, the DHF, has been the cornerstone of SRO’s global activities for the past three years.
Its replacement includes a range of sizes per class, as well as innovations and materials that provide a wider working range, faster warm-up and greater consistency in terms of car balance over long distances.
The new GT2 and GT4-spec tires also feature those materials, as well as a new carcass with an optimized profile and construction that ensure a more uniform footprint across all track conditions for all cars.
The arrival of DHG also completes Pirelli’s overhaul of a GT range that includes the Cinturato WHB wet tire.
Introduced in 2024 solely for GT2 cars and in some championships also GT3, the latest evolution of Pirelli’s treaded tire will be the standard across the board for all GT cars in SRO’s main championships.
