Chinese Grand Prix 2025 F1 starting grid

Oscar Piastri will start a Formula 1 race from first place for the first time in his career, after prevailing in qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix.

Piastri will be joined on front row by George Russell, who denied McLaren a 1-2 on the grid at the last moment

Reigning champion Max Verstappen will line up alongside current points leader Lando Norris on row two, ahead of an all-Ferrari row three.

There are currently no penalties to be applied to the grid - with Ollie Bearman investigated for potentially impeding Lance Stroll but cleared (thanks also to Stroll saying it was no issue), and Isack Hadjar's unsafe release resulting only in a Racing Bulls fine.
