"If you have faith, you'll become stronger than before." Angel Studios has unveiled their official trailer for a movie called
The King Of Kings, an animated tale about Jesus coming to theaters
in April before Easter. The story of our Lord Jesus Christ as told by Charles Dickens and seen through the innocent eyes of a child. Made in Korea, directed by a Korean filmmaker at a Korean animation studio, this is a very American movie about religion. It follows the story of a boy who "walks alongside Jesus, witnessing His miracles, facing His trials." Starring the voices of
Kenneth Branagh (as Charles Dickens),
Oscar Isaac (as Jesus Christ),
Ben Kingsley (as High Priest Caiaphas),
Pierce Brosnan (as Pontius Pilate),
Uma Thurman (as Catherine Dickens),
Forest Whitaker (as Peter),
Mark Hamill (as King Herod), and
Roman Griffin Davis (as Walter Dickens). Usually we don't post trailers from Angel Studios as they're a religious propaganda studio, but this is just too funny to pass up this time. Oscar Isaac as Jesus Christ?! Why not! This looks so extremely cheesy and full of melodramatic platitudes. And the bit at he end with the kids and the contest is
so cringe. //
