Nike Basketball Taps Chevrolet For Devin Booker's Newest Collection

Update: Last week we caught a preview of a new project from Devin Booker and Nike, one made in collaboration with Chevrolet. Booker's love for cars -- and his Chevys especially -- is well documented and informs the campaign, which has just been unveiled by the Swoosh. His three 1972 Chevrolet Blazers serve as the inspiration for two Blazer Low colorways and a new take on the Book 1 as well. All three sneakers feature suede uppers with Chevrolet branding and an “America’s Heartbeat” insignia on the tongue. The Blazer Low "Surf Blue" nods to his blue Blazer, which is named Uncle Larry. As for the other pairs, a Blazer Low "Team Dark Green" is joined by a Book 1 "Dark Gold Leaf," both of which we previewed previously below. Rounding out the collection is a collaborative tee that features Uncle Larry in "Sail" and "Anthracite" color options. Look out for the entire project to drop on April 22 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.Original Story: Devin Booker's Nike partnership has proven to be fruitful. Constantly creating buzz on the court with a slate of new PEs for his first signature shoe, the Phoenix Suns' star also makes a splash outside of the court. Beyond basketball, Booker is also known for his affinity for vintage American cars. As a nod to his love of Chevrolets, including his persona 1969 Chevy Blazer K5, Booker brings the retro energy to his latest "Chevy" collection. The Nike Blazer Low receives a Book rendition, paying tribute to his classic ride in a rich green suede upper and gum outsole. The Swoosh is accented in white to pop against the green while the "BOOK" branding is embroidered on the heel as a nod to the retro Nike PEs.The Nike Book 1 also receives its own "Chevy" rendition in a golden yellow suede upper that also feature the signature Chevy bowtie branding on the tongue. Additionally, the "Chevrolet" label is stitched on the heel tab as well the insoles. Look out for the pairs expected to drop later this month.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
