NHL announces King Clancy Memorial Trophy nominees for all 32 teams
The league announced the King Clancy Memorial trophy nominees for all 32 teams on Tuesday — an award presented “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

In the same way that good work on the ice gets recognized by the NHL, so too does positive effort off it.
The league announced the King Clancy Memorial Trophy nominees for all 32 teams on Tuesday — an award presented “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”
Nominees were selected by their respective teams, while the winner will be determined by a selection committee comprised of commissioner Gary Bettman, and former winners of the King Clancy trophy and NHL Foundation Player award.
In choosing a winner, the committee will consider criteria that include a nominee’s inspiration, involvement and level of impact to benefit their community.
The player to receive the most votes will be named the winner and receive a $25,000 donation to benefit charities of their choice, while also being eligible to elect their club to receive a grant — up to $20,000 — to organize an activation related to humanitarianism.
New York Islanders winger Anders Lee is the reigning winner of the award.
