While it never quite made it into KARMA: The Dark World by the end of the April, Pollard Studio today has launched the all-new free Cinematic Filter Mode on PC and PlayStation 5 for their surreal sci-fi horror title. Just as it sounds, this new feature adds a new layer of immersion and cinematic flair to the game’s visual experience.
As an added bonus for Steam Deck owners, KARMA: The Dark World has now been verified for the handheld, allow you to take the game on the go.
The new Cinematic Filter Mode offers up six distinct visual styles for players: 8MM Film, Fisheye, Dreamcore, Old Film, Low Saturation, and the Noir-inspired Black and White.
And just in case you never picked up the game when it launched back in March, in celebration of the new Cinematic Filter Mode’s launch, you can snag KARMA: The Dark World for a cool 20% discount on Steam and the Epic Games Store, the latter of which where the game is officially launching today. The offer coincides with publisher Wired Productions’ birthday celebrations throughout the “Month of Wired,” featuring daily deals, competitions, and surprise game reveals until the end of May.
KARMA: The Dark World blends psychological horror with immersive storytelling, challenging players to uncover the deepest secrets hidden in the minds of their targets. Taking place in 1984 East Germany, players take on the role of Daniel McGovern, an elite Roam Agent working for Leviathan Corp’s Thought Bureau, and tasked with mind-diving into the memories of suspects.
What begins as another routine investigation soon unravels into a dark conspiracy that challenges everything he believes. As McGovern navigates the minds of those he pursues, he must confront disturbing truths and question his own reality.
