Modern Love closing Williamsburg location
”After eight unforgettable years, Modern Love Brooklyn will be closing sometime this June,” Isa Chandra Moskowitz says.

We’ve been big fans of Modern Love, Isa Chandra Moskowitz beloved purveyor of “swanky vegan comfort food,” since it opened in Williamsburg in 2016. Like many restaurants, they’ve been struggling recently, and we’re very bummed to hear that they will close in June. Here’s their message:
One door closes. Another opens?
After eight unforgettable years, Modern Love Brooklyn will be closing sometime this June.
There are a lot of reasons behind this decision. But right now, I just want to say: THANK YOU.
Thank you for making this restaurant a home. Thank you to everyone who came through our doors. From the skeptical family member who left a lover of oyster mushroom calamari, to the new vegans who finally found their love language, to our longtime regulars who knew exactly what they wanted the second they walked in (you know who you are)…thank you ALL.
It’s been an honor to serve you vegan mac and cheese (and everything else) for so long. It was a dream to serve from-scratch vegan food in Brooklyn, my hometown and the place that I love the most. And honestly, I’ll miss you all too much not to continue in some way.
Plus, our team is incredible, and what we’ve built together is just too good to end here.
So. Here’s the good news: we’re already looking for a new space. Maybe it’ll be a new chapter of Modern Love, maybe it’ll be something completely different. Leaning towards different, and of course I’ll keep you updated.
But for now, we’ll be here through June (last day TBA). Come celebrate these last weeks with us.
xo, IsaP.S. Thank you to everyone who supported our AC fundraiser – this is helping us move into what’s next. I hope you enjoy the merch for a good long time.
