Ministry playing ‘With Sympathy’ & ‘Twitch’ material on Squirrely Years Tour w/ Nitzer Ebb, Thrill Kill Cult, more
“Since I hated my early stuff for decades, I decided to take ownership of it and do it right,” says Jourgensen.
For decades, Ministry‘s Al Jourgensen refused to play songs from the group’s ’80s synthpop years, but Gary Numan convinced him to rework songs like “All Day,” “Revenge,” and “Everyday is Halloween” into the band’s current harder style. Ministry debuted an all-’80s set at the 2024 Cruel World Festival, and now they’ll be doing the same on what they’re calling The Squirrely Years Tour. All dates are below.
For the tour, they’ll be joined by Die Krupps for most dates, with Nitzer Ebb on the first leg, and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult on the second leg. The NYC show is at Brooklyn Paramount on May 16 (with TKK) and tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, February 14 at 10 AM local time.
But wait, there’s more. Ministry have also rerecorded some of those early synthpop songs for a new album, The Squirrely Years, which will be out March 28 via Cleopatra Records. No song has been shared from it yet but you can check out the artwork and tracklist below.
