Land Motorsport will make its DTM debut with a single-car Audi effort, ensuring the Ingolstadt brand will remain represented on the grid as the team steps up to provide an alternative program for Ricardo Feller.

The German squad, led by former Porsche Carrera Cup Germany champion Wolfgang Land, will field a single Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II with former factory driver Feller set for driving duties.

The Swiss racer, who moved to a new role as a Porsche-contracted driver for this season, was originally set to contest his fourth consecutive DTM season with Allied Racing.

However, Feller was left without a drive when the Allied program was canceled at late notice, causing Land to step up “practically at the last minute”

“Ricardo should have been racing for another team in the DTM,” said team manager Christian Land.

“However, that programme failed to materialise. We were in close contact with him and put together an alternative plan for the season.”

Land’s debut effort also ensures that Audi, one of DTM’s longest-serving brands, will remain on the grid. This initially appeared unlikely as ABT Sportsline, the only team to run Audi machinery last year, moved to Lamborghini over the winter.

Previous Audi successes for Land most notably include an overall victory in the Nürburgring 24 in 2017, while it also captured a GTD class victory at Motul Petit Le Mans in the same year.

It also captured two ADAC GT Masters championship, the second of which came with Feller and Christopher Mies in 2021.
