Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier Viva will begin nonstop service that connects Miami International Airport (MIA) with Mexico City’s new Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) for the first time on November 21, 2025.
The new route will operate four times a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and continues Viva’s expansion into the U.S. and Florida. The airline already offers regular flights from Miami to Monterrey and Mérida.
“Congratulations to Viva on their exciting plans to launch the first non-stop flights between MIA and Mexico City-AIFA. Mexico is already our second-busiest international market, with 1.6 million travelers moving between our regions each year. This new route strengthens our ties, expands connectivity, and opens the door for even more cultural and economic exchange between Miami-Dade and Mexico. We thank Viva for being our MIA partners.” says Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
Executive Vice President of Planning and Partnerships at Viva Javier Suarez commented, “At Viva, we want to keep enhancing Mexico’s international connectivity by expanding travel opportunities for our passengers in both countries—making it easier to do business, grow trade, and enjoy the incredible attractions these vibrant cities have to offer, like South Beach, the Wynwood Arts District, and the energy of Miami, as well as Mexico City through this new and modern airport at the heart of our country,” said Javier Suárez, Executive Vice President of Planning and Partnerships at Viva.”
