Edmonton agreed to a two-year extension with Ty Emberson on Saturday, per a team announcement. The deal carries an average annual value of $1.3 million.
Emberson, 24, was acquired by the Oilers last August for a third-round pick in the 2025 draft and Cody Ceci.
He was scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
The right-shot defenceman played in 76 games for Edmonton this season, averaging 15:07 of ice time per game. He scored two goals and 13 points while registering a minus-5 rating. He also dished out 125 hits and blocked 97 shots.
Originally drafted in the third round of the 2018 draft by the Arizona Coyotes, Emberson debuted in 2023-24 with the Sharks.
