Liam Davies vs Kurt Walker: Odds, betting tips, undercard, and more
Legendary boxing promoter Frank Warren presents another fascinating evening of professional boxing through his star-studded Queensberry Promotions stable. Saturday’s card from the Nottingham Arena has something for everyone, including two world title fights, several eye-catching domestic showdowns and no fewer than four debutants. The new arrivals will be eager to steal the headlines by getting their career off to a knockout start, but the most exciting bouts are nearer the top of the bill. Anthony Cacace defends his world super featherweight title against former featherweight world champion Leigh Wood. You’ll find an in-depth preview of that contest at TalkSPORT. On this page, former professional boxer and TalkSPORT’s pundit, Frankie Monkhouse, covers Liam Davies vs Kurt Walker. The vacant IBF International featherweight belt is awarded to the winner of this bout, scheduled for 12 rounds, and you can call the result at the UK’s leading online bookmakers. Having tipped Saul Alvarez to defeat William Skull on points and Chris Eubank Jr to better great rival Conor Benn on the scorecards, we aim for another winner on Davies vs Walker. Davies vs Kurt odds Liam Davies is the fighting pride of D onnington, Telford, who travels to the venue with a professional boxing record showing 16 wins from 17 fights. The 29-year-old is currently ranked number two in the United Kingdom at featherweight, one spot behind Nick Ball. He’s also 18th in a global chart headed by stars of the fight game, including Rafael Espinoza, Angelo Leo and Stephen Fulton. Davies won’t pass Ball and become the British number one with a win over Kurt on Saturday, but victory would drive him up the global ranks, paving the way for a big year. Opponent Kurt Walker is the unbeaten Irishman in a rush to reach the top of the fight game. The 30-year-old living in Lisburn in Northern Ireland has won all of his previous 12 bouts, meaning he arrives in England desperate to protect his pristine card. Adding Liam Davies to his hit-list would seriously improve his standing in the division and prove he’s ready to mix it with some of the best at featherweight. Kurt is ranked third in Ireland behind TJ Doheny and Michael Conlan. He has chosen to roll the dice and face a respected opponent on a live TV show, but will the gamble pay off? It’s the number two featherweight in Britain against the number three from Ireland. Which gladiator will claim a crucial victory, setting up money-spinning bouts against the main players in one of the busiest weight categories? Will Davies rely on the English crowd to win, bag the IBF International strap and prove he’s ready for a return to bigger and better things? Perhaps you rate the chances of the “away” fighter who knows his career will change overnight if he returns to Ireland as champion. Here are the current Davies vs Walker betting odds available on the bet365 website and mobile app. Liam Davies to win at 2/9 with bet365 Draw at 16/1 with bet365 Kurt Walker to win at 7/2 with bet365 Odds provided by bet365, which are correct at the time of writing, but please remember boxing betting prices can and often do change approaching the first bell. Davies vs Walker outcome odds There’s enough to keep boxing lovers and bettors busy in the fight-winner market, especially if you’re happy to take a shot on the Irishman at great odds. But there are plenty more ways to gamble on big-time boxing as the leading sportsbooks beef up their coverage. Study the stats, browse the promotions, and find a market that increases your chances of making a profit or limits the risk to your stake. You can gamble on the total number of rounds in the fight, the knockdowns, or the bout to end inside 60 seconds. After years of studying boxing, betting, and beating the bookies on the big fights and the small hall weekly shows, I’ve learned the difference between a good betting market and a great one. The market I regularly find myself coming back to when seeking the value is the method of victory. When playing the method of victory, you are challenged to predict which fighter will win and how they’ll achieve the result: either on points or by knockout. The more research you do into both fighters, the card, promoters, managers, weight, sparring and the form, the greater your chances of landing a profit through this approach. My love for the method of victory paid off in recent times when followers got the profits from both Canelo and Eubank to win their fights on points. Do you expect Saturday’s bout to go the distance and challenge the scoring judges? You may want to bet on either Davies or Walker on points. If you expect a slugfest with both men going on the attack from the first bell, you may prefer to bet on your pick to win by KO/TKO. The method of victory market is more challenging than the fight-winner market, but the prizes are often well worth winning. Check out the latest odds below.

Davies must bounce back from defeat
Liam Davies will duck between the ropes on fight night with a professional boxing record detailing 16 wins against just one defeat. The Englishman made his professional debut with an impressive victory back in Birmingham in 2018 and has progressed through the ranks since then. He has already won respected titles, including the English bantamweight, WBC International, British super-bantamweight, European and the WBO International.
Davies continued his progress when he became a recognised world champion, taking the vacant IBO super-bantamweight world title with a second-round TKO win over Erik Robles Ayala in Birmingham. It was a memorable night for the fighter, his team, and his army of fans, as Liam realised a lifelong dream. Becoming champion of the world is one thing; keeping hold of the title and defending it from all-comers is very different. Davies lost his hard-earned belt in his first defence.
The only defeat currently on Davies’ card came in his most recent start when going down on a split decision to Stoke’s Shabaz Masoud. Following an enjoyable contest, the scorecards read 115-113 to Davies, 115-113 Masoud, and 116-112 Masoud, crowning a new champion. Instead of trying to force the rematch, Liam moved up one division from super-bantamweight to featherweight, where he’ll attempt to become a force. Will he have as much success in the popular division? Saturday’s bout against an unbeaten fighter will provide a decent yardstick.

Walker arrives unbeaten in 12
Kurt Walker boasts an unblemished fight record as a professional, winning each of his dozen outings. The Irishman made his professional bow with a first-round stoppage win at the Hydro in Glasgow just over three years ago. Those in attendance who witnessed the ferocious body shot that ended things quickly thought they’d seen the birth of a big-punching star at the lighter weights. But Kurt didn’t stop another opponent until his 11th outing.
Walker beat James Beech Jr in round seven at the Ulster Hall in Belfast, cutting his opponent above the eye. It was a punch-perfect performance and a real coming-of-age for Kurt, who proved he belonged in great company. He followed that up with a career-best win over the tough and experienced Leon Woodstock in his next outing, getting the nod in a majority decision. The scorecards at the end of that ten-round contest read 96-94, 97-93, and a 95-95 draw, allowing Kurt to edge it.
The Irishman is here on merit following two big wins and now gets an opportunity to test himself against a former world champion. How will he measure up against an opponent who has battled his way to the top in a lower division? Will Walker be the naturally stronger and fresher man? Supporters certainly hope so, and we’ll find out when the first bell chimes in Nottingham. The IBF International championship will move the winner into a position to challenge for the organisation’s world title.
