Lael Neale announces new album & 2025 tour dates, shares “Tell Me How To Be Here”

Lael Neale has announced a new album, Altogether Stranger, which will be out May 2 via Sub Pop. This is the third album she’s made with producer Guy Blakeslee. “I love doing things the wrong way,” she says of her creative process. “It’s so rare that we get to do that in life. Even as artists, I notice a slow and steady conformity set in as musicians become legitimate. I do it too. How else would we fit into the font, size & waveform of streaming services. I rebel in minute ways—like refusing to follow a recipe. In the end, I’m just like everyone else: I want to belong.”

The first single from the album is the twinkling “Tell Me How To Be Here” that mesmerizes in a gentle haze of tape loop atmospherics. Watch the video, which Lael directed, below.

Lael has announced 2025 tour dates, which are mostly in the UK/EU, but there are also album release shows in Los Angeles (April 10 at Zebulon) and NYC (April 25 at Public Records).
