Jude Bellingham was at the centre of a controversial moment in the Madrid derby after being caught telling a linesman to ‘F**k off’.

Real Madrid played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with fierce local rivals Atletico Madrid in Saturday night’s big La Liga clash.

Julian Alvarez’s controversial penalty gave Atletico the lead but Kylian Mbappe equalised soon after the break, reacting quickest after Bellingham had a shot blocked near the goal line.

As ever, tempers flared at the Santiago Bernabeu and Bellingham let his emotions get the better of him in one astonishing moment that was caught by the pitch side microphones.

In the 12th minute, the England superstar challenged Marcos Llorente on the touchline with the ball bobbling out of play.

The linesman flagged for an Atletico throw – much to the fury of Bellingham who then screamed: ‘F**k you, man! F**k off!’ at the official before shaking his head and jogging away.

It is not the first time the 21-year-old has had an X-rated rant at a referee this season, having appeared to call one official a ‘piece of s**t’ during Real’s 4-1 win over Espanyol in September.

Though Bellingham escaped punishment on both occasions it is entirely possible that he could be retrospectively reprimanded for this latest outburst which has gone viral on social media.

Last season, Mason Greenwood, then on loan at Getafe from Manchester United, was sent off after allegedly telling a referee to ‘F**k off’, though the red card was later overturned upon appeal.

Real will certainly be hoping Bellingham does not get any kind of suspension with the midfielder recording 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions so far.

The derby draw means Los Blancos remain one point ahead of Atletico at the top of La Liga. Barcelona are five points behind but have a game in hand.

For now, attention turns to the Champions League, with Real taking on Manchester City in a huge play-off tie, with the first leg at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

‘Great reaction in the second half, felt we deserved more than a point but that’s football,’ Bellingham posted on Instagram after the Madrid derby.

‘Few days rest and back to England for another important game. Hala Madrid.’
