After being teased two weeks ago, the Jetour VT9 seven-seat D-segment SUV has been launched in Malaysia at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2025, in Comfort (RM119,350) and Prime (RM124,350) variants, OTR before insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. The first 800 customers get a RM2,000 rebate.
The Comfort gets all-LED lighting, cruise control, a 360 camera, TPMS, four airbags, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a cooled front centre armrest box, a D-shaped steering wheel that’s manually adjustable for rake and reach, shift paddles, 50W wireless charging, 19-inch alloys wrapped in 235/55 rubber, a six-way powered driver’s seat, four speakers, blue ambient lighting and a power tailgate.
The Prime adds on a panoramic sunroof, two more speakers for six in total, two more airbags for six in total, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane change warning, door opening warning, driver’s seat memory, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, plus front and rear door puddle lamps that project the Jetour logo onto the ground. No mention of auto emergency braking (AEB) nor adaptive cruise control (ACC), though.
The 4,724 mm-long, 1,900 mm-wide and 1,720-mm tall vehicle has the Chery Omoda 5‘s 156 PS/230 Nm 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the gearbox is a six-speed wet twin-clutch auto. Wheelbase and ground clearance are respectively 2,720 mm and 144 mm.
Inside, you’ll find a 10.25-inch LCD twin-screen with voice command. There are four USB-A ports – two up front and two out back. The boot holds 89 litres with all seven seats up; fold the second- and third-row seats down for 1,680 litres.
Whether you take your VT9 in Star Black, Khaki White, Phantom Grey, Tech Grey or Aurora Green, you’ll get a seven-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty and five times’ free service (labour and parts).
