Racers Edge Motorsports team owner Jon Mirachi has announced his retirement from active duties following 35 years at the helm of the organization.
Mirachi, who founded the Florida-based operation in 1990, has handed over team manager duties to Jim Pattin, effective immediately.
Under Mirachi’s direction, Racers Edge has scored more than 100 wins and 12 championships.
“I have no doubt I’m leaving the team in very capable hands,” he said. “Jim has the knowledge and skill set to lead Racers Edge Motorsports to continued success, and he has experience in every aspect of the paddock and the race shop.
“During his career with the team, he has grown beyond just a brilliant engineer but has also been an integral part of all aspects of our championship seasons.”
Pattin, in roles as a mechanic, fabricator, gearbox technician and shop manager, has been part of Racers Edge’s programs in a variety of series, including most recently being race engineer with the team’s Acura NSX GT3 program.
The team switched to Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo machinery this year with the new lineup of Jason Bell and Michael Cooper in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.
“It is a privilege to take on the role of team manager and to build on the foundation that Jon Mirachi has established,” said Pattin.
“Racers Edge Motorsports has a strong tradition of striving for excellence, and I look forward to working with the team, our customers, and Aston Martin Racing to continue that legacy.”
Mirachi will temporarily remain in an advisory role with Racers Edge, providing guidance and support as the team transitions into this new chapter, while stepping back from a trackside presence and daily operations.
The new management structure will debut in next weekend’s GTWC America round at Circuit of The Americas.
