Martinook left Saturday’s Game 3 win midway through the third period after blocking a shot from Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. He appeared to favour his left leg as he went to Carolina’s locker room.
There was no immediate word on what exactly was injured or how severe the ailment was.
The 32-year-old forward had logged 15:16 of ice time before departing, laying three hits and blocking two shots.
Martinook scored 15 goals and 36 points in 79 regular-season games for Carolina, and has scored once and dished out three assists this post-season.
The Hurricanes’ win Saturday gave them a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Monday’s Game 4 goes at 7 pm. ET / 4 p.m. PT and can be seen on Sportsnet or streamed on Sportsnet+.
