Great Writing Prompt From Stephen Curry Last Night!

As regular readers know, I’m a big-time Golden State Warriors – and Stephen Curry – fan.

In fact, I have a lengthy The Best Ways To Use Stephen Curry & The Warriors For Teaching Social Emotional Learning Skills, and an unshakable belief that they will win Game Seven in Houston tomorrow night.

Here’s a quote from a San Francisco Chronicle article about last night’s game:

“It’s always hard to win,” guard Stephen Curry said after the 115-107 loss at Chase Center on Saturday. “Winning is hard. Sustaining it is hard. If you want to win at the highest level, you have to embrace the hard….You’ve got to just embrace it, have fun with it, show up with a killer instinct.”

In class, I would share that quote, and then offer this writing prompt:

What do you think Stephen Curry means when he says “you have to embrace the hard”? To what extent do you agree or disagree with what he believes? To support your position, be sure to include specific examples drawn from your own experience, your observations of others, or any of your readings.

I’m adding this post to  Best Posts On Writing Instruction, where you can find a large collection of my writing prompts.
