Get 12/1 on ‘Fergie Double’ of Protektorat and Manchester United both to win with Ladbrokes

Today is a big day for Sir Alex Ferguson, whose horse runs runs in the Cheltenham Festival hours before Manchester United kick off their Europa League tie. Ladbrokes are offering a boosted ‘Fergie Double‘ for both Protektorat to win the Ryanair Chase and for Manchester United to beat Real Sociedad and book their place in the quarter finals of the Europa League, which can be combined for odds of 12/1. With several of the odds-on horses already disappointing at this year’s Cheltenham Festival, punters are looking elsewhere ahead of Day Three, and Protektorat, owned by Sir Alex Ferguson, makes up one half of a 12/1 double bookies are expecting to see interest in. Protektorat is looking to win back-to-back Ryanair Chases and is currently 6/1 to do so, with trainer Dan Skelton having this to say on the 10-year-old gelding: “He’s been unbelievable since the turn of the year and was absolutely brilliant at Windsor. “I’m so happy with how he’s been, and the fact he’s in such good form at 10-years-old is just a testament to his toughness really. “I’m looking forward to running him and I think he’ll put up a good defence. Obviously it’s a warm race, but I can’t have him better.” Elsewhere, Manchester United head to Old Trafford locked at 1-1 with Spanish side Real Sociedad ahead of the second leg of their Europa League Round of 16, and are currently 10/11 to win tonight and progress to the last eight. That Protektorat/United double, with Ladbrokes, currently pays just over 12/1, and the bookies are expecting plenty of Red Devils to get behind it… Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s been a solid start to the week for bookies, but Thursday is all about Fergie Time and a Protektorat/Man United double could well cost us a few quid.” Ladbrokes Latest Betting Protektorat to win the Ryanair Chase – 6/1 Man United to beat Real Sociedad (90 minutes) – 10/11 Protektorat and Man United both to win – 12.36/1 Commercial content notice: Taking one of the bookmaker offers featured in this article may result in a payment to talkSPORT. 18+.
