Fox Business Host Slams Trump White House – and Former Co-Host – For Dodging Her Requests to Talk Economy: ‘I’ll Air Dirty Laundry All Day’

Fox Business host Dagen McDowell called White House officials out on Wednesday for avoiding the network’s asks to discuss the economy — and not only that, but she says they won’t even answer the phone.

“Some of the people in communications at the White House, in the Treasury, will not respond to the show trying to just book anybody to talk about this economy,” she told her “The Big Money Show” co-stars. “They won’t even answer the show, but Scott Bessent goes on one of the lowest rated shows on another network.”

Indeed, Treasury Secretary Bessent appeared on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” last week to discuss the media’s opposing coverage of President Trump’s economy versus that of former President Biden. McDowell’s co-host Charles Gasparino made sure to point out Bessent also sat down with Fox Business’ Larry Kudlow for a Q&A with the Economic Club of New York this past week, but that doesn’t cut it for her.

“If they want to communicate with the American people… I’m calling them out,” McDowell continued. “The people who work for these Treasury Secretaries need to answer a text message. It’s shameful.”

“I’ll air dirty laundry all day. I don’t care,” she concluded, while noting that she even has a direct connection to Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy since they used to host “The Bottom Line” together from 2023-24.

U.S. stocks finished in the red (again) on Tuesday after more tariff talk from Trump. The market uncertainty followed the Dow and S&P 500’s worst performance in three months on Monday — with the former falling nearly 900 points — while the Nasdaq had its worst day since September 2022.
