Finnair has launched its first Avios sale of 2025, a loyalty currency it shares with IAG airlines (Iberia, British Airways, Aer Lingus & others) and Qatar Airways.

Finnair Plus members can buy Avios at up to a 50% bonus through February 23, 2025.

Remember that you can link your Finnair Plus account with BA and freely transfer Avios between them. BA also allows you to transfer Avios with Iberia and Qatar Airways.

Enjoy an Early Bird offer with up to 40% Bonus Avios

Buy Avios between 19 – 23 February 2025 to earn up to 40% bonus Avios.
6k – 10k Avios = 30% bonus Avios
11k – 99k Avios = 35% bonus Avios
100k – 200k Avios = 40% bonus Avios
After that, earn up to 30% bonus Avios until 5 March 2025!

Price at 50% Discount:

The lowest price of Avios under this sale is 1.5 euro cents each. The price during the previous sale last year was 1.05 euro cents, which usually fluctuates between 1.4 and 1.24 euro cents.

Buying Avios Through BA:

You can buy Avios at roughly a bit higher than 1 euro cent through Avios Booster; BA buys Avios subscriptions or at 1.2 euro cents each during frequent sales at a 50% bonus.

Conclusion

You can also buy Finnair Avios if you need more British Airways, Iberia, or Qatar Airway Avios, as you can move them between accounts (through BA).

If you have previously purchased Finnair Plus points, you should review current award charts and fuel surcharges to see if they still make sense. Finnair started pricing its own awards leg by leg, raising some of the prices significantly and penalizing those who don’t live in the Nordics.

This is not a good price to buy Finnair Plus Avios or Avios in general. You should wait for a better Avios sale from Finnair unless you need some right now, and the price at 1.5 euro cents makes sense.

The special offer is only applicable to Finnair Plus members who joined the program before 5 February 2025 and have a minimum balance of 500 Avios in their Finnair Plus account. Transactions must be completed between 19 February (00:00:01 EET) and 5 March (23:59:59 EET) 2025 to earn the Avios bonus. Finnair Plus members can purchase for themselves or as a gift a maximum of 200,000 Avios in the calendar year.
