Earn Explorist status with the new World of Hyatt Business card welcome offer

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (see rates and fees) is currently offering a solid new welcome bonus with a never-before-offered perk. 

Meanwhile, the World of Hyatt Credit Card (see rates and fees) comes with its business-as-usual bonus. 

Let’s examine the current welcome offers available to help you decide whether now is the right time to apply.

World of Hyatt Business Credit Card

Welcome offer: Earn 60,000 bonus points plus Hyatt Explorist status after spending $7,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. This offer is available through June 30. 

Based on TPG’s April 2025 valuations, the 60,000 bonus points are worth $1,020, which is the regular bonus offer we see on this card.

This offer’s real highlight is Explorist status, which normally requires staying 30 nights or spending $10,000 with Hyatt to earn 50,000 base points. Instead, you can earn this status until February 28, 2026, for just $2,000 more than its typical welcome offer spending requirement. 

This is the first time Explorist status has been included in a bonus, per the card’s offer history. And while it’s hard to put a price tag on Explorist status, it comes with several added benefits, including best available upgrades, guaranteed availability 72 hours before arrival and a 20% points bonus. 

Annual fee: $199

Earning rate: Up to 9 points total for Hyatt stays — 4 points per dollar spent on qualifying purchases at Hyatt hotels and 5 points per dollar spent as a World of Hyatt member — plus 2 points per dollar spent on fitness club and gym membership purchases.

Cardholders also earn 2 points per dollar in their top three spending categories each quarter with no spending cap. These categories include:

• Airline tickets purchased directly from an airline
• Car rental agencies
• Dining
• Gas stations
• Internet, cable and phone services
• Local transit and commuting 
• Social media and search engine advertising 
• Shipping

The points-earning rates will be adjusted automatically on the categories where you spend the most each quarter, so there’s no need to select your preferred categories. Beyond your bonus categories, you’ll earn 1 point per dollar spent on all purchases.

Why we like it: Hyatt loyalists who own a business can find value in the card’s latest bonus offer, which offers Explorist status after spending $7,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. Explorist status benefits include room upgrades (excluding suites and rooms with club lounge access, when available at check-in), AAdvantage redemption options and 2 p.m. late checkout.

It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to fast-track to top-tier Globalist status with the current welcome offer. Even though you will earn Explorist status, you won’t receive the corresponding tier-qualifying nights to boost you toward Globalist. 

You’ll still earn five tier-qualifying nights for every $10,000 you spend on the card in a calendar year.

World of Hyatt Credit Card

Welcome offer: Earn up to 60,000 bonus points: 30,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening; plus, up to 30,000 bonus points by earning 2 bonus points total per $1 spent in the first six months from account opening on purchases that normally earn 1 bonus point, on up to $15,000 spent.

Based on TPG’s April 2025 valuations, this bonus is worth up to $1,020. This is the regular welcome offer on this card. In the past, the card has offered up to 75,000 bonus points or free nights as part of the welcome bonus.

Annual fee: $95

Earning rate: Up to 9 points total for Hyatt stays — 4 points per dollar spent on qualifying purchases at Hyatt hotels and 5 points per dollar spent as a World of Hyatt member — plus 2 points per dollar spent at restaurants, on airline tickets purchased directly from the airlines, on local transit and commuting, and on fitness club and gym memberships and 1 point per dollar spent on everything else.

Why we like it: This card has several valuable ongoing perks, the best of which is the annual free night certificate at a Category 1-4 Hyatt property, which you’ll receive every account anniversary. You’ll also get a second free night after spending $15,000 in a calendar year.

Why should you get a Hyatt card?

Both the World of Hyatt personal and business cards offer plenty of benefits for Hyatt loyalists. In fact, the Hyatt personal card ranks among the top picks of TPG staffers.

Having either card automatically grants you Discoverist status, which includes benefits such as late checkout, preferred rooms and a 10% points bonus on eligible purchases. With the current Business card offer, you’d get bumped to Explorist status until February 2026 after meeting the spending requirement.

Spending on either card can also earn you additional elite-qualifying nights.

You’ll also enjoy several travel protections, such as baggage delay insurance, lost luggage reimbursement, and trip interruption and cancellation insurance.

Plus, the personal card comes with a free night certificate every year (valid at Category 1-4 properties), which is extremely valuable for any Hyatt enthusiast.

Bottom line

There’s much to love about both World of Hyatt credit cards, even if you don’t frequently stay at Hyatt hotels. Both cards feature several perks that can easily cover their reasonable annual fees.

The current bonus on the World of Hyatt Business card offers Explorist status through February 2026 after meeting a minimum spending requirement. This is the first time we’ve seen elite status offered by this card’s welcome bonus, and it’s a great idea to apply if you’d find value in the extra perks.
