Corpus Offal (ex-Cerebral Rot) announce LP & tour with Mephitic Corpse (NYC with Mournful Congregation & Evoken)

Last year, Seattle death metal band Cerebral Rot broke up and two members (lead guitarist/vocalist Ian Schwab, and guitarist Clyle Lindstrom) formed Corpus Offal, alongside Jesse Shreibman (Bell Witch, Autophagy) and bassist Jason Sachs (ex-Demoncy). They dropped a demo in March, and now they’ve officially announced their Billy Anderson-produced, self-titled debut LP, due out March 21 via 20 Buck Spin (pre-order). The first single is a nearly-eight-minute eponymous song that takes you on a nightmarish journey, and it comes with a gruesome video directed by Chris Eaton. Check it out below.

Corpus Offal also announced a tour with fellow gore-bringers Mephitic Corpse (who recently released their debut LP Sickness Attracts Sickness) and that includes a pretty epic bill in NYC on May 17 at TV Eye with Australian funeral doom vets Mournful Congregation, NJ funeral doom vets Evoken, and Spite. That’s just a few days before Mournful Congregation and Evoken both play Maryland Deathfest, and Mournful Congregation also say more East Coast US shows are TBA. And speaking of Evoken, they revealed via Decibel that they’re planning to release their first album since 2018 this year via Profound Lore. Stay tuned for more on that.
