Chelsea host Manchester United in their final home game of the Premier League season on Friday night.

The Blues are still fighting to secure Champions League qualification as the campaign nears its end but for United, the focus will solely be on the Europa League final against Tottenham next week.

Ruben Amorim rested some of his likely starters on Sunday in the dreadful 2-0 defeat to West Ham United but Bruno Fernandes, Noussair Mazraoui and Rasmus Hojlund were among those to still play the full 90 minutes.

With their trip to Bilbao in mind, the United boss will surely be taking no further risks on Friday after Leny Yoro was forced off with a concerning injury issue at the weekend.

Both the defender and his manager looked distraught as the Frenchman left the pitch but Amorim’s comments post-match struck a more positive note, hopeful it ‘could be a small thing’.

In any case, Yoro will surely not be involved against Chelsea with Harry Maguire, who came off the bench to replace him, another who could be kept out of the firing line.

Matthijs de Ligt meanwhile has missed the last two matches since his brief return to action.

Tyler Fredricson, Harry Amass and Chido Obi could be handed starting roles again while Amorim could also look to the likes of Sekou Kone, Bendito Mantato, Godwill Kukonki and Jaydan Kamason with senior stars rested.

Toby Collyer meanwhile has resumed training but the trip to west London may come too soon for the midfielder.

Diogo Dalot is still working towards being fit for the Europa League final with Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven and Joshua Zirkzee all sidelined.

How United could line up on Friday…

After defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday, Chelsea have slipped down to fifth – still good enough for Champions League qualification. But with a trip on the final day of the season to Nottingham Forest, currently sat in seventh just a point behind Enzo Maresca’s side, Friday is a must-win game.

Chelsea will be without Nicolas Jackson after his daft red card at St James’ Park earned him a three-match suspension.

Christopher Nkunku remains sidelined while Marc Guiu has not featured since picking up a hamstring injury in February.

Pedro Neto was shifted into a role through the middle during Jackson’s recent injury absence and may be asked to do that job again.

Jadon Sancho meanwhile is ineligible to take on his parent club while Wesley Fofana will have no further role to play this season.

With Sancho ruled out, Tyrique George could also be handed a starting role, whether it’s in his familiar wide role or through the middle as he did in the Europa Conference League wins over Djurgarden.
