TV series veteran Carlton Cuse has been tapped to pen a new live-action “Star Wars” TV series over at Lucasfilm reports THR.
Cuse and his son, Nick Cuse, are penning the show for Lucasfilm and Disney+ and plot details are under wraps at this time. Therefore it’s not clear where on the “Star Wars” timeline the series will be set.
The older Cuse is a TV veteran who has been around since the 1990s when he created series like “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.,” “Nash Bridges” and “Martial Law”. His most famous work to date was as co-showrunner on “Lost” alongside Damon Lindelof.
After that, he created “Bates Motel,” “Colony” and “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” along with having a major hand in shows like “The Strain,” “The Returned,” “Five Days at Memorial” and “Locke and Key”.
The younger Cuse has worked on shows such as” “The Leftovers,” “Maniac,” “Watchmen” and “Station Eleven” and co-wrote 2020 film “The Hunt”. This will be the first time father and son have collaborated on a project together.
Aside from the second season of “Ahsoka” which begins production this week ahead of a 2026 airing, Lucasfilm doesn’t have any further live-action series gearing up for production as yet even as multiple new “Star Wars” films are in the works.
The news comes as the second season of “Andor” is slated to premiere on Disney+ tomorrow.
