SRO Motorsports Group has revealed a bumper 76-car entry for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, marking the largest number of entries since the event became a GT-only race.

The number of cars represent a significant uptick in interest for the event compared to last year, when 66 cars took the start of the Intercontinental GT Challenge’s blue riband event.

SRO founder and CEO Stephane Ratel previously indicated to Sportscar365 that the event was due to be oversubscribed, predicting an entry of over 70 cars at the time.

While the number of entries is not an outright record for the 24H Spa, which had 82 starters for the last touring car race in 2000, it sets a new record for the GT era.

This was previously set at 72 cars, which was reached in 2019.

The field for this year’s event is made up of 21 cars in the Pro ranks, with 19 cars in Bronze Cup and 16 in Silver Cup. Twelve cars have been entered into the Gold Cup class, while Pro-Am is the smallest category with seven cars.

The majority of the Pro field is made up of full season GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup entrants, while Goodsmile Racing, Dinamic GT, Team WRT and ROWE Racing are listed having previously communicated plans to field one-off cars.

Defending winners Comtoyou Racing are back with their No. 007 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, once again driven by Marco Sorensen, Nicki Thiim and Mattia Drudi.

In total, ten different manufacturers are represented on the grid, with the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R making its event debut with Johor Motorsports JMR and Steller Motorsport.

The Johor car, entered in Bronze Cup, will be driven by Prince Jefri and Abu Bakar Ibrahim, Jordan Love and Corvette factory driver Alexander Sims.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, Steller Motorsport’s second Corvette has reappeared after missing Paul Ricard, with the team stating it was “pushing” to have a two-car effort ready for the rest of the Endurance Cup season.

However, no drivers have yet been named for the effort.

Elsewhere on the grid, BMW factory driver Connor De Phillippi has been added to the lineup for the No. 15 BMW Italia Ceccato Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evo, while Jake Dennis returns to Paradine Competition to replace Dan Harper.

FIA World Endurance Championship racer Riccardo Pera joins the lineup for the No. 80 Lionspeed GP Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Notable additional entries across the rest of the field include the series return of Beechdean Motorsport, which joins the Pro-Am grid with the No. 100 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo spearheaded by factory drivers Ross Gunn and Valentin Hasse-Clot.

U.S. squad Wright Motorsports joins the Gold Cup grid with its No. 120 Porsche for Adam Adelson, Elliott Skeer, Tom Sargent and a yet-to-be-confirmed fourth driver.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driver Jack Hawksworth has been named as the fourth driver in the No. 188 Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in Bronze Cup, with Zach Robichon taking up a similar role in the No. 74 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3.

Nordique Racing has moved its No. 611 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo back into Gold Cup after debuting in the Pro class at Paul Ricard, with Tim Sandtler joining Edoardo Liberati, Yuichi Nakayama and Kazuto Kotaka.

The 78th running of the 24H Spa will take place on June 28-29.
